One of the best looking PS5 and Xbox games is free if you hurry | Gaming | Entertainment
Developed by Codemasters and published by Electronic Arts, F1 24 is unquestionably one of the best looking video games available today.
From the accurate recreations of real-world race tracks to the stunning rain and weather effects, F1 24 is worth playing even if you don’t particularly follow the sport.
The good news is that you can try the game for free this weekend, although you’ll need to be quick off the mark.
From now until 8pm GMT UK time on November 24, F1 24 is free to download and play on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
The free weekend coincides with the imminent Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will be held at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on November 23.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix will be followed by just two additional races on December 1 in Qatar and December 8 in Abu Dhabi.
Anybody who plays F1 24 this weekend will also be pleased to hear that EA Sports is giving users Double Podium Pass XP, which makes it quicker and easier to unlock in-game rewards.
Likewise, all players whether on the limited trial or not, will also receive a free Champions Livery, which is designed by artist “Lefty Out There” and is said to be inspired by Max Verstappen.
If you enjoy the free trial and want to continue playing when it comes to an end, F1 24 is available at a massively discounted price.
On Steam, for example, the Standard Edition is reduced to just £24, while the Champions Edition with additional bonus content costs £32.
Speaking of free game trials, it’s a great weekend to be an Xbox fan, because Microsoft is making multiple games available to try.
This includes free trials for EA Sports NHL 25, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate, horror game Dead by Daylight and WW2 shooter Hell Let Loose.
Microsoft explains more: “Join the chaos of war and be a part of the most iconic battles of the Eastern and Western Fronts in this squad-based 50v50 multiplayer game.”
Over on the Epic Games Store, the PC platform holder is giving away Beholder for free. Unlike the Xbox trials, Beholder is yours to download and keep.
A unique premise for an intriguing game, Beholder sees players become the manager of an apartment building.
In a dystopian twist, your real mission is to spy on the tenants and report any suspicious characters to the government.
