Millions of Freeview users can now unlock another new free channel
Freeview has announced the launch of something new on its service and it will certainly please anyone who speaks the Welsh language. From this week, Freeview’s online Play platform gets the S4C Clic channel which includes dramas, documentaries and sporting action which are all broadcast in Welsh.
The announcement of the player’s new home on Freeview Play follows a landmark deal between S4C and “adopted Welshman” and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds to deliver Welsh culture, language and talent to the US. The launch of S4C Clic also coincides with the channel’s coverage of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show.
Anyone wanting to tune in will now find S4C Clic via any devices that have access to Freeview Play with this service now featured on the homepage.

For those not aware, Freeview Play is host to more than 70 standard and a selection of HD live channels,
There are also 30 radio stations and 12 on-demand players as well including BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, My5, UKTV Play and the latest addition of S4C Clic.
Those accessing the service will find around 60,000 hours of on demand content to watch along with over 1,250 boxsets.
Most modern smart TVs have the Freeview Play app and it’s also available via a number of set-top boxes.
Speaking about the launch, Siân Doyle, S4C’s Chief Executive said: “We are proud to be able to bring Welsh language programming to a new audience on Freeview Play. We’ll be able to showcase the creativity and talent that we have in Wales in millions of homes across the UK.”
And Owen Jenkinson, Director of Freeview added: “We are delighted to add another player to our catalogue, with S4C bringing the best of Welsh language shows to TV. Adding even more to our already existing 60,000 hours of content, S4C brings dramas, sports, kids shows, documentaries and more to Freeview Play.”
