Hundreds of Argos shoppers rush to buy discounted PS5 console bundles | Gaming | Entertainment
Don’t worry if you missed out on a PS5 Pro console earlier this week, because Argos has some fantastic deals available on the regular PS5 Slim and a ton of games. As part of the retailer’s Next Level Gaming event, fans can grab discounted games, PS5 console bundles and accessories for a limited time. As you can see from the links below, this includes a discount on the PS5 Slim, which comes with a built-in disc drive and a copy of the excellent Final Fantasy 16 for just £499.98. According to the Argos website, this discounted bundle is selling extremely fast, with hundreds of units being snapped up by eager customers. If you do want to secure a discounted console with a copy of the Square Enix role-playing game, then visit the PlayStation 5 store page and click on the “Money Off Bundles” to the right of the console. You’ll then be greeted by a list of money saving deals, including the bundle featuring Final Fantasy 16.
In addition to discounts on PS5 console bundles, Argos has slashed prices for dozens of games on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
This includes titles like Hogwarts Legacy, which can be purchased for as little as £21 (for the PS4 and Xbox One versions).
Simply select a game, add it to your trolley and enter the code GAMING25 to knock 25% off the asking price.
Elsewhere, Argos is selling discounted accessories like steering wheels, headphones and carry cases, as well as cut-price gaming furniture like chairs and desks.
If you really want to push the boat out, you can even grab a PS5 with an OLED TV for a reduced price.
However, it’s the discounted PS5 Slim with a copy of Final Fantasy 16 that’s my pick of the bunch, especially with Christmas on the horizon.
Unlike the £699 PS5 Pro, this particular model comes with a built-in disc drive, which means you can play physical games and watch DVDs/Blu-rays.
It comes with 1TB of storage via the super fast Solid State Drive that reduces loading times down to just seconds.
The console comes with one DualSense Controller, which feature advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
These particular features are perfectly demonstrated with the built-in game Astro’s Playroom, which is a hugely entertaining 3D platformer starring Sony’s newest mascot.
As for Final Fantasy 16, the game features a more mature tone, mixing the political intrigue of something like Game of Thrones, with the whimsical world of Final Fantasy, complete with Chocobos and Summons.
Developer Square Enix explains more: “An epic dark fantasy world where the fate of the land is decided by the mighty Eikons and the Dominants who wield them.
“This is the tale of Clive Rosfield, a warrior granted the title ‘First Shield of Rosaria’ and sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the dominant of the Phoenix.
“Before long, Clive will be caught up in a great tragedy and swear revenge on the Dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity in its wake.”
