A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has been recorded on the outskirts of Istanbul in Turkey – with three other countries also affected by the huge tremor. The quake hit 73km (45 miles) from the city, also rocking Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania. It was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

There have been no reports of casualties or damage to buildings, nor have there been any aftershock or tsunami warnings. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) added that little or no landsliding is expected, but some landslides could have occurred in highly susceptible areas.
